Your Own Prayer of Dedication
For over a thousand years, pilgrims have travelled to the town of Santiago de Compostela in the northwest corner of Spain.  My own visit there was a very moving experience.  That visit was the inspiration for writing a devotional of selections from the Bible, all selected from the point of view of a pilgrim.  Compiling this book convinced me that, in fact, the pilgrim's perspective is that of the Bible as a whole.

The book is illustrated with photos from along this ancient pilgrim's way -- the "Camino de Santiago" -- the way of Saint James the Apostle, whom local tradition holds as being buried in the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela.

Please consider reading this book of devotions, whether or not you plan a journey to Spain.  It is written to begin on July 25, which is the feast day of St. James, but you can begin any time.   There also is a shorter forty-day version.

Stand at the crossroads, and look, and ask for the ancient paths, where the good way lies. Jer 9:16.
